MOORHEAD (KFGO-AM) -- A rollover south of Moorhead sent a Fargo man to the hospital by ambulance Thurs. morning.
It happened at around 7:45am on Hwy 52. Clay County Sheriff Bill Bergquist says the 35 year-old man was thrown from his southbound SUV after he lost control on ice. He hit the ditch and rolled. The vehicle ended up on top of the driver, identified as James Smith.
Bergquist says Smith was able to speak with first responders at the scene. Sabin Fire-Rescue and a Moorhead fire crew helped free Smith from underneath the SUV. Before emergency crews arrived, Bergquist says a Sabin firefighter used a jack from his own vehicle to partially lift the SUV, allowing Smith to breath.
