Bismarck, N.D. (AP) North Dakota's Game and Fish Department is reminding waterfowl hunters that the statewide duck and white-fronted goose seasons close on Sunday.
However, hunting opportunities remain.
Duck hunting in the high plains unit reopens Dec. 13 and continues through Jan. 4. The unit is basically northwestern North Dakota and all areas south and west of the Missouri River.
The North Dakota season for Canada geese closes Dec. 25, except for the Missouri River zone, which closes Jan. 2. The Missouri River zone encompasses areas along the river south of Garrison Dam.
Light goose hunting closes statewide on Jan 4. Archery deer, fall turkey, sharp-tailed and ruffed grouse, partridge, pheasant and tree squirrel hunting seasons continue through Jan. 4.
