WADENA, MINN. (KFGO-AM) -- A Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway freight train derailed in Otter Tail County.
It happened near Wadena, adjacent to Highway 10, just after 6 a.m. Monday. Spokesperson Amy McBeth says initial reports indicate that 32 cars derailed. The 92-car eastbound train was carrying freight of all kinds. The cars involved contained primarily sugar products.
The sheriff's office says no hazardous materials were involved and there were no injuries.
Motorists on Highway 10 between Wadena and Bluffton may encounter intermittent lane closures and possible delays because of the derailment. The lane closures will be necessary for crews to move equipment in and out of the derailment site.
