Pembina, N.D. (AP) Federal officials will be hosting events in Fargo and Grand Forks to enroll individuals in the Global Entry Travel Program.

The Global Entry Pass lets low-risk travelers bypass the traditional customs inspection when arriving into the U.S. from abroad, and instead use kiosks to re-enter the country at select airports.

Customs and border protection officials will conduct interviews for conditionally approved applicants during the events in North Dakota. Interested individuals must apply online, pay a fee and pass a background investigation to be conditionally approved.

The vetting process takes between six and eight weeks. Those who successfully complete the interview are allowed into the program.

The events are scheduled for February. The Fargo event will be at Hector International Airport and in Grand Forks at Mark Andrews International Airport.
