Bismarck, N.D. (AP) The Democratic candidate for North Dakota's lone seat in the U.S. House of Representatives has the support of former President Bill Clinton.
George B. Sinner is challenging incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. Kevin Cramer, who is seeking his second term in the house. Sinner is a state senator and the son of former North Dakota Gov. George A. Sinner.
Clinton said in a statement released Monday that he's endorsing sinner because the North Dakota Democrat is a "proven leader with a strong record of public service.'' the former president says Sinner will work across party lines.
Cramer says it would have been more surprising if a Democratic president was not supporting sinner. Cramer says he hasn't sought endorsements from former presidents because they don't vote in North Dakota.
