Hard Fight For Control Of Minnesota House

Albert Lea, Minn. (AP) The undercard on this fall's ballot is the tussle over control of the Minnesota House. But that district-by-district fight has big implications for what policies the next governor will be able to advance.

That's why Governor Mark Dayton has been on the trail for vulnerable incumbents this week. The Democrats have a 73-61 majority heading in, but that also means they have a lot more seats to defend, and Republicans are on offense.

Millions of dollars have poured into television and radio ads, mailings, canvassers and phone calls. Most of the 134 seats aren't in play. Between 12 and 20 are getting most of the money and attention.

It's possible the Chamber could wind up in a 67-67 tie.
