WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — State Transportation Department officials are temporarily closing the Lewis and Clark Bridge on U.S. Highway 85 south of Williston for inspection and maintenance work.
The agency says the bridge over the Missouri River will be shut down from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday.
The highway is the major north-south artery in western North Dakota. Motorists will need to take alternate routes. Potential routes include the Four Bears Bridge on state Highway 23 near New Town, the Yellowstone Bridge on state Highway 200 at Fairview and the Mon/Dak Bridge on state Highway 58 near Buford.
