FARGO, ND. (KFGO AM) -- In a unanimous vote, Fargo city commissioners have approved setting up a Public Art Task Force.
Commissioner Melissa Sobolik recommended the idea.
She says more public art is near the top of the list on the city's long range plan just behind flood protection and "in-fill" construction in older parts of the city.
The task force will be made up of city leaders, representatives of the arts community and several "at large" community members.
Sobolik says the group will come up with recommendations on ways to bring public art to Fargo.
The task force will have a small budget to hire a consultant.
Later, the city could approve funds to commission art work.
