FARGO, ND. (KFGO AM) -- Our first significant blast of winter weather looks set to pounce on the eastern Dakotas and northwest and west-central Minnesota.

And, it looks like it'll come in a couple of different waves

First we have a "Winter Weather Advisory in effect for much of eastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota, including the Fargo-Moorhead area.

Three-to-five inches of snow is possible, with the best chances for the most snow north of the F-M area.

In fact, to two-to-three inch snow-falls have already been reported in the Park River, Grafton and Crookston areas. The Fargo-Moorhead area looks to be in line for two-to-four inches of snow today into tomorrow.

Then, Tuesday into Wednesday is when the second--and more serious round of weather is expected.

That's why the National Weather Service is issuing a Winter Storm Watch.

Wide-spread six inch snow falls are possible, along with strong winds, making for blowing and drifting.

That will likely be followed by bitterly cold air toward the end of the week.

The Weather Service cautions they are uncertain as to the exact track of the storm...because it it still in the developing stages, but you are advised to prepare for the return of Winter.
