Vancouver, Wash. (AP) Unions have endorsed plans for an oil train terminal at the Port of Vancouver that would ship crude oil down the Columbia river.

The Columbia Pacific Building Trades Council, Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters and International Union of Operating Engineers said Thursday they reached an agreement to ensure the terminal would be built with union labor.

The state energy facility site evaluation council is reviewing the proposal from Tesoro and Savage companies. The terminal could handle as much as 360,000 barrels of crude oil per day arriving by rail from North Dakota. It would be shipped by water to refineries.
