Bismarck, N.D. (AP) About 40 North Dakota Army National Guard Soldiers will return to North Dakota Monday and Tuesday after a yearlong deployment in Kosovo. The soldiers are members of the guard's Company C, 2nd Battalion, 285th Aviation Regiment that is based in Bismarck.
The soldiers earlier this month arrived at Fort Hood, Texas, where they went through a demobilization process.
They will arrive on various flights to Bismarck, Fargo, Grand Forks and Minot.
The guard says the soldiers supported an international peacekeeping mission. The unit operated black hawk helicopters as part of a task force that conducts military peace support operations in Kosovo.
The North Dakota aviators also provided air transport for U.S. and NATO forces, including training and assistance to the Kosovo security forces.
