FRISCO, TX (KFGO) -- The town of Frisco, Texas has been invaded once again by tens of thousands of NDSU fans. The fans packed the Bison Pep Rally Friday night at Dr. Pepper Stadium but the latest story comes from Towson students who were given incentive to make the 23-hour-trip from Towson, Maryland to Frisco, Texas by bus.
Students we spoke with paid $50 which covered the cost of their bus trip from Towson and a game ticket. A minimum of 6 buses showed up in the Toyota Stadium parking lot Saturday morning at 10:00am having left Maryland packed early Friday morning. When asked what the atmosphere of Towson football games is several remarked that this was "their first game they had been to all season."
Whatever the previous attendance figures have been for students it appears today will be slightly different as the students poured out of the buses clad in Tigers gear ready to cheer on their team for a chance at the FCS National Championship.
Jennifer Heil, a recent graduate of Towson now living in Austin, Texas held a sign that said: "Twest Spins Past NDSU." Heil traveled from Austin with her boyfriend a former 4-year-starter on the Tigers to cheer on her alma mater.
