FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- The juvenile suspect in an assault and attempted kidnapping at Fargo's West Acres Mall last month has been ordered to undergo a mental evaluation.

Prosecutors are trying to get the 15 year old boy moved to adult court.  A judge will make that decision in 4 to 6 weeks after the mental evaluation is finished.

The teen is accused of robbery, attempted kidnapping, terrorizing and simple assault.

Typically there are not many transfers from juvenile to adult court.

Assistant Cass County State's Attorney Kara Schmitz Olson said, "We have had cases based on the circumstances and the allegations against the child that we thought was appropriate, ultimately were not the ones that make that end decision, it would be the judges."

The teen was arrested while at school in West Fargo on September 18th, one week after the incident at the mall.

He remains in juvenile detention.
