MOORHEAD (KFGO-AM) An Alabama man was arrested following a high speed chase through Moorhead and rural Clay County.
Speeds at times were clocked at around 100 mph. It started near I-94 and Highway 52 early Tuesday when the driver fled a state trooper during a traffic stop. Police say the fleeing driver managed to get across a rail crossing on a frontage road near Sam's Club just ahead of a train that cut the trooper off.
The pursuit picked up again when police spotted the car near Highway 10 and eventually ended up back on I-94. When his car was disabled by stop sticks near the Buffalo River bridge east of Moorhead, the man fled on foot into a soybean field where he was caught without incident. He's identified as Brian Mikul, 47. He was also wanted on a Florida warrant.
