FARGO (KFGO-AM) 750,000 sandbags stockpiled following Fargo's 2013 flood are headed to the recycling pile.
City Operations Director Ben Dow says the filled bags have been stored outside, under tarps at the Public Safety Building and at the landfill composting site, ready if there had been another flood this year. An inspection shows the bags and the wood pallets holding them have rotted and are no longer usable,
Dow says the bags will be shredded and the sand stored for the next time sandbags need to be filled.
