WEST FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity is raising the wall on it's 50th home Saturday.
Habitat for Humanity's Pete Christopher says the home in West Fargo is being built for a single mother who's a veteran who left an abusive relationship with her four children.
In order to qualify, Habitat recipients have to meet the guidelines for needing help, such as living in sub-standard or unhealthy housing. They also have to put in 250 hours of sweat equity and they have to be able to make the mortgage.
While Habitat homes are built with volunteer labor and a lot of donated products, recipients still have to pay a mortgage. Christopher says those payments go directly to Habitat for Humanity so they can continue to fund future build projects.
