FARGO (KFGO) -- The National Weather Service in Grand Forks has issued a blizzard warning in effect until midnight Saturday night. Strong winds have developed and will continue into the evening hours creating blizzard conditions. Also expected from the storm are dangerous wind chills from 30 to 40 below zero. The freezing temperatures and accumulation of freezing drizzle can create icy roads throughout the region.
Blizzard warnings from the National Weather Service are defined as severe weather conditions occuring, falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibilities likely. This will lead to whiteout conditions making travel extremely dangerous. The warning means do not travel but if you must the National Weather Service advises having a winter survival kit with you.
