Fargo, N.D. (AP) North Dakota State University has received a $1 million endowment to support scholarships for adult learners who are starting or returning to college. The Bernard Osher foundation awarded the money to the university. The funds are meant to be spent on undergraduate students. The university says the foundation has donated $50,000 each year since 2012 to assist adult learners. Scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 have been given to students in several disciplines. NDSU awarded 15 Osher scholarships this academic year. The school says the average age of a recipient of an Osher scholarship at NDSU is 34.
