FRAZEE, MINNESOTA (KFGO-AM) -- A semi hauling live turkeys hit the ditch in Becker County late Tuesday night.
The trucker told deputies he lost control after hitting the brakes while trying to avoid a deer. He wasn't hurt, but some of the turkeys were injured or killed.
The semi was hauling about 1,500 turkeys. Another truck was brought in from Faribault, Minnesota to haul the live turkeys away.
Deputies spent more than seven-and-a-half hours on the scene corraling turkeys and waiting for them to be loaded onto the other truck.
