Bismarck, N.D. (AP) More than 1,000 fall turkey licenses are still available in North Dakota. The state's Game and Fish Department says the remaining licenses will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis starting Sept. 30. Licenses remain available in eight units. Hunters are allowed a maximum of 15 licenses for the fall season, which runs from Oct. 11 through Jan. 4. The department says resident and non-resident hunters can apply online or by mail. The application is available on the department's website and some license vendors will also have paper applications.
