Bismarck, N.D. (AP) North Dakota has received $2.7 million from the U.S. Department of Labor to improve the state's unemployment insurance programs. The federal agency says the money will allow the state to adopt new technologies and ensure payments are given to those eligible to receive them. Secretary of Labor Thomas Perez says the funds will also help the state integrate programs to ensure recipients of unemployment insurance are given the resources they need to find a new job quickly. The agency granted more than $87 million nationwide to assist states revamp their programs.
