FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- New security measures are in place at the Cass County courthouse in Fargo and at the county annex building on 10th St. South.
Sheriff's Department Captain Mickey Harmon says it a significant improvement. Bullet proof glass is one feature. Harmon says deputies who staff the main entrance to the courthouse and annex had little protection and the upgrades offer more security and better control as visitors enter the buildings.
The courthouse security station was designed to fit in with the existing woodwork of the building at the main, public entrance.
The project was included in this year's budget. The cost of both security upgrades was $171,500.
