FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- Representatives of the High Rise turned out at the Fargo City Commission meeting to have their voices heard.

The High Rise is home to about 300 elderly, disabled and low income residents.

Floodwall construction on 2nd St. S. will eliminate parking spaces at the building. Construction will also change the MAT-BUS route from being located right outside the door to an area further away.

Resident Paul Wylie said "We don't want our elderly and disabled residents going through ice and snow. We've been told that as of Sept. 26, as far as their concerned the bus isn't coming to the High Rise anymore. And I'm like ok. Well I guess we're going to court."

High Rise residents will continue to work with city engineers and commissioners in resolving the transportation issues.
