FERGUS FALLS, MN (KFGO-AM) -- Police say a 911 call from a woman who said that a child had been harmed led officers to a home near the downtown area late Wed. morning.

Lt. Terry Eldien says after a nearly five-hour stand-off, police discovered that no one else was inside. The woman and the child got out of the home at some point while police had surrounded the residence. The woman had said that a man was in the home and that he was armed with a gun.

Police, Otter Tail County deputies and DNR Conservation Officers were among those responding. Shortly after 3:30pm, police began to clear the scene.

There was no apparent injuries to the woman or the child. The investigation is ongoing.
