FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- A judge has entered a not guilty plea on behalf of a Fargo man charged with using rocks to shatter windows at the Cass County Courthouse.
Christopher Wagar, 28, who is charged with a single count of misdemeanor criminal mischief, admitted to the vandalism during a jail interview with a deputy sheriff. He's accused of breaking windows at the courthouse last Wednesday and again on Sunday. He was arrested outside the building by a police officer early Monday morning.
Besides the damage at the courthouse, Wagar admitted to breaking a window at Southeast Human Services and placing a rock on top of a mailbox about a block from the courthouse. He's also been implicated in the defacing of a campaign sign of District judge candidate Tristan Van de Streek.
Wagar told the deputy that he has been diagnosed with mental illness.
