BISMARCK (KFGO-AM) -- The North Dakota Department of Health says a resident of southeastern North Dakota has this season's first confirmed case of West Nile Virus.
The victim is a woman in her 50's who lives in Richland County. She has not been hospitalized because of her illness.
This is peak season for West Nile Virus. The State Health Department says using insect repellent containing DEET and limiting outdoor activities between dawn and dusk can help help reduce your risk.
