MOORHEAD (KFGO-AM) Counterfeit money has been turning up in Cass and Clay Counties in the past month.
There have been several dozen reports of bogus money, most of them $50 bills. The latest reports were in Moorhead. Thursday, a man attempted to use a fake fifty at the drive-up at Taco Johns but was denied because the bill was torn. He then tried his luck at a nearby Mcdonald's. Police confiscated that bill. Investigators believe it was the same person.
Most of the counterfeit bills have discovered in Fargo but Moorhead, along with West Fargo, Casselton, and Felton have also reported phony bills.
