FARGO, ND (KFGO AM) -- Plans to build a $65 million dollar ring levee to protect Oxbow, Hickson and Bakke subdivision from flooding are moving forward.
About 40 homes in Oxbow will have to be removed to make room for the ring levee.
One of the first steps is for the Red River Diversion team to buy lots for residents who are on the river or in the staging area who may want to build new homes.
There's also the option of having their home moved to another location.
Construction is set to begin next year and should be completed by 2017.
