MOORHEAD (KFGO-AM) -- Neighbors of a proposed Moorhead apartment complex for the homeless spoke out against the plan at a public hearing.
Churches United plans the project north of Cashwise Foods on 34th St. Residents of the Arbor Park housing development and Pine View Cottages, a senior living development, have big concerns about safety and say they don't want it in their backyards.
Those with Churches United say the apartments will have 24 hour security and will be rented to homeless veterans and the elderly first, keeping the neighborhood as a safe place to live.
Churches United is seeking a $6.5 million state grant for the project.
