FARGO (KFGO-AM) - The bishop of the Fargo Catholic Diocese says a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that says some companies don't have to offer free birth control because of religious reasons is "good news for everyone."
The ruling in favor of Hobby Lobby marks the first time that for-profit businesses can cite religious views under federal law.
Fargo Catholic Diocese Bishop john Folda says calls the former Obamacare mandate “morally objectionable.”
“The court seems to have upheld the first amendment protections of religious liberty” Folda said. “It’s good to know that this right that’s enshrined in the Constitution is being upheld”.
The White House says the ruling jeopardizes women's health; and that women should be allowed to make personal healthcare decisions, not their bosses.
