FARGO (KFGO-AM) - North Dakota's new voter identification law is causing a small percentage of voters to be turned away at the polls. Secretary of State Al Jaeger describes the number affected as a "small handful."
The new law requires voters to possess an acceptable I-D with a current home address.
Some residents on the Spirit Lake Indian Reservation were turned away because their tribal I-D's didn't include the proper information.
Jaeger says other residents have tried to use passports as I-D's, which are not recognized for voting.
