MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO-AM) - Getting around downtown Moorhead could be a little less time-consuming in the coming days. The Minnesota Dept. of Transportation is upgrading software on traffic signals controlled by passing trains.
D-O-T spokesman Jerimiah Moerke says the software knows which vehicles are delayed the longest - and allows them to go first after a train clears the intersection.
Expect delays and detours while the upgrades are being installed. Installation could take about a week.
The software will be used along Main Avenue, Center Avenue and 1st Avenue North between the Red River and 14th Street.
