FARGO, N.D. (KFGO AM) -- Isolated severe storms that popped up yesterday afternoon prompted a series of tornado warnings across southeast North Dakota.
Warning sirens sounded in Casselton and Mapleton when doppler radar indicated rotation in the clouds but there was no sign of a funnel cloud.
One funnel cloud was reported just east of Chaffee, in south central Cass County around 5:00 PM, but it did not touch down.
Brief heavy rain was reported in Cass County.
KFGO "Cell Net" callers reported numerous vehicles pulled off I-94 west of Casselton because of near zero visibility.
There were also scattered reports of half-to-three quarter inch hail across Cass County.
Hansboro, in Towner County reported hail the size of ping-pong balls.
